Healthy mango shake recipe(Includes poppy and flax seed)

The reason why I use poppy and flax seeds in this shake is that both the seeds have many health benefits.

Poppy seeds helps lower LDL or "bad cholesterol" and increase HDL or "good cholesterol" levels in the blood. These seeds are excellent source of B-complex vitamins. Many of these vitamins function as co-factors in substrate metabolism especially fat and carbohydrates. Poppy seeds contain good levels of minerals like iron, copper, calcium, potassium, manganese, zinc and magnesium .

In same way even flax seed is very beneficial for health. They prevent heart disease, Diabetes and Stabilize Blood Sugar Levels. They Improve your Skin Health and help get Rid of Eczema, Dry skin, Acne, etc. Flax seed also reduces the risk of various kinds of cancer.

So here comes the recipe of such a health drink for you and your family. And this is the best way to consume these seeds in your daily routine.


1 mango peeled and cut into cubes

½ banana (for sweetness, as I avoid adding sugar or honey)

350 ml Cold milk

1 tbsp poppy seeds(khus khus)

1 tbsp flax seed powder(Alasi)

1tbsp honey(if required)

few cubes of ice

Chopped almonds and fresh cherries as topping


Blend mango, banana, poppy seed, flax seed powder and half of the milk for a minute.

Than add honey if required and rest of the milk and blend it till there are no pieces of mango and banana.

Add ice cubes in your glass. Pour the shake and top it with chopped almonds or cherries and serve.
