Green peas rice


1 cup uncooked rice(basmati)

1 Cup green peas

½ cup corns

1 carrot cut into small pieces

1 Medium onions sliced

2 Inch cinnamon stick

2 ¼ cup water

Salt to taste

1 Tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp red chilly powder

1 tsp garam masala

1 cinnamon stick

Few cloves

1 bayleaf

½ tsp coriander powder

Cilantro to garnish


Dip rice in water for atleast half an hour.

In a pan heat oil, Add cumin seeds,cinnamon stick, bay leaf and cloves. Once they start crackling add sliced onions. Saute them for 1- 2 minute till translucent.

Than add green peas, carrot and corn. Saute them for another minute and add salt, garam masala, ,Chilly powder and coriander powder.

Add 2 ¼ cups of water.

Once the water comes to boil. Add rice to the water. Let the rice cook on medium flame. Once the water evaporates, Cover it with lid so that rice remain in steam for about 15 minutes. Do not stir the rice too much.

Serve it with raita or curry of your choice.
