Shahi Paneer





Ingredients:

250gm Cottage cheese(Paneer) Cut in desired shape(I like triangle shape for shahi paneer)

2 medium size onions chopped(I used chopper for this)

1 medium size tomato chopped

1tsp Chopped Ginger

1tsp chopped green chillies

Salt(according to taste)

1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder(Haldi)

1Tsp garam masala

1/2 Tsp cumin seeds(Jeera)

1/4tsp Black pepper powder(kali mirch)

Red chilly Powder according to taste(depending on green chillies)

2 Tbsp. fresh cream

1 Cup milk

2Tsp cooking oil

1 Tbsp dry fenugreek leaves(dry methi leaves)

  • Freshly chopped coriander leaves for garnish
















Method:

  • Soak the paneer in warm water for 5 to 7 minutes.

  • Add oil in a pan on medium heat. Add cumin seeds to the oil, than add chopped ginger and green chillies. Fry for a minute and add finely chopped onions. Fry till the onions turn light brown. than add tomatoes. keep stirring and add turmeric powder, garam masala and red chilly powder .

  • Keep mixing till the masala leaves the oil. than add cream to the same . Make sure the flame is on low. Than add milk to the pan. When milk comes a a slight boiling point add the paneer and salt to it And mix it with light hands. Cooking of paneer will not take much time as already it was soaked in warm water(You can also add the fried paneer pieces, but it will add to the calories)

  • Now add dry fenugreek leaves and black pepper, mix for a minute. And put off the flame.

  • Simple and mouthwatering shahi paneer is ready to serve. Add chopped coriander and fresh cream for garnishing .
