Urad dal ladoo
2 cups Urad dal (soak for atleast 3 to 4 hours and grind it)
1 ½ cup desi ghee
125gm powdered sugar or bura (depends on sweetness, if you want more sweet add 150gm)
75 gm chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts etc)
1 tsp cardamom powder
Heat ½ cup ghee in pan and roast the grinded dal by mixing it continuously, else it will start sticking at bottom of the pan.
Mix it for 2 to 3 minutes and add another ½ cup of ghee.
Keep stirring it continuously and add all left over ghee (½ cup), keep stirring till dal turns brown in color.
Remove it from flame and let it cool for few minutes. (15 minutes)
Now add sugar, cardamom powder and chopped nuts.
Mixture for ladoo is ready.
Take mixture in your palm and press it with both hands to the shape of ladoos (small balls).
Ladoos are ready to eat.
You can also store them in an air-tight container.
You can also use urad dal flour instead of soaking and grinding dal.
Ladoos made with dal are crumby in texture, whereas ladoo's made with flour are fine in texture.
