Coconut chutney


  • ¼ cup peanuts - roasted, skinned and ground

  • ½ cup grated coconut

  • 1 tbsp ginger paste or chopped

  • 2 green chillies chopped

  • 3-4 green chillies slit

  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander

  • 1tsp Urad dal

  • 1 tbsp tamarind paste

  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds

  • 2 dry red chillies

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

  • Few curry leaves

  • salt to taste


1. Grind roasted groundnuts to powder.

    2.Than add fresh coconut, ,ginger, tamarind paste and salt. Grind without water for 10-15 seconds and then add water and grind into paste.

    3. Heat oil in pan and fry urad dal,cumin seeds, mustard seeds,dry red chillies (break them into two pieces), curry leaves then add slit green chillies and coriander and fry for a minute.

    4. Pour this on chutney paste and mix well.

    5. Serve it with idli, wada, dosa or uttapam.
