Gem cookies






Ingredients:


  • 1 cup wheat flour or all purpose flour (maida)I prefer wheat flour

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • ½ cup(4 OZ) butter(room temperature)

  • 1 tsp cardamon powder

  • ¼ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • Few cad-bury gems or any other gems for garnishing(which ever your kids like)


Method:

  1. Preheat your oven on 350f.

  2. In a mixing bowl add butter and sugar and beat them with spatula or spoon till smooth.

  3. In a separate bowl mix all dry ingredients like flour, cardamon powder, salt and baking soda. Now slowly slowly put dry ingredients mixture into butter. At last with help of hands make a dough kind of thing.

  4. Cover it nicely in cling foil and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  5. Grease the baking tray with oil or place Parchment sheet on your baking tray.

  6. Than make small rounds out of the dough. I was able to make around 20 balls. Make sure there is enough space between all the cookies as they will raise and flatten from all the sides.

  7. Than take the kids favorite gems and place it in center of your cookies.









  1. Place your baking tray in preheated oven .It will take around 15 to 20 minutes on 350 f depending upon oven to oven.

  2. It took me around 18 minutes to bake. They will turn into light brown color. And you can even feel the aroma of the cookies all around. Take out your cookies . Let it cool down for 15 minutes and serve them to kids. They will love it and these are healthy too for kids as I didn’t use maida.

  3. You can store them in air tight container after they cool down for around 10 days.
