Chickpea patties (Kala chana kabab)


2 cups kala channa (chickpeas – 2 cups after boiling)

2 slices of brown bread

1 medium onion chopped

1-2 green chillies chopped

1 tbsp ginger chopped

Fresh cilantro chopped

Salt to taste

½ tsp red chilly powder

½ tsp black pepper powder

½ tsp dry mango powder (Amchoor)

½ tsp cumin powder (jeera powder)

Bread crumbs


Grind boiled chickpeas in mixer.

Now soak bread slices in water, squeeze the water and add into chickpeas. Add all others ingredients except bread crumbs and mix them all together with spoon or hand. You may taste the mixture as well.

Take mixture in your hands and give them desire shape.

Roll them in bread crumbs.

Now you can shallow fry, deep fry or also even put them into your pre-heated oven.

I prefer shallow fry method.

Yummy chickpea kababs are ready to serve. Sprinkle some chat masala if you want.
